Phyllis Tims developed a passion for rivers over 38 years of on-river experience.
She says her greatest talent is holding on tight, but she has time on the oars and you will see her influence in many aspect of the Northwest River Company Selway River experience. Originally from California, Phyllis pursued a professional career in ballet and modern dance and traveled the world performing as a member of a modern dance company. Later she taught dance in Hawaii and Hong Kong, and worked in University administration as Chair of the Modern Dance Department and as Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Vice-President for the Arts at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She recently retired from the University and now focuses her attention on the Selway and Campbell's Ferry Ranch, our historic backcountry ranch property on the Salmon River (www.campbellsferry.com).
Phyllis and Doug spend winters at their home in Tucson and summers on the Salmon and Selway Rivers.
